Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents a transformative force in the evolution of library and information services worldwide. This review critically examines the adoption and application of AI in library and information centres in Katsina State, Nigeria. Drawing from current global, African, and Nigerian literature, the paper identifies the drivers, barriers, and future prospects of AI integration in libraries. The review finds that although awareness of AI is increasing among Nigerian librarians, full implementation remains limited, particularly in Northern States like Katsina. Key challenges include poor digital infrastructure, lack of skilled manpower, inadequate funding, and insufficient government support. The paper argues that the future of library service delivery in Katsina depends on deliberate efforts to integrate AI into operations through capacity building, collaboration, and infrastructural investment. The review concludes by offering actionable recommendations to guide library modernization in the digital era.
